How do I contact Childcare Group Africa?

Are there agents who conduct business on behalf of Childcare Group Africa? Are there additional fees or hidden costs other than the ones published on the contract form?

Childcare Group Africa conducts business directly with its clients and does not have agents. There are absolutely no extra charges or hidden costs other than the ones published on rates and the Childcare Group Africa contract form.

Will there be a contract between the nanny and the family?

No. The nannies are employees of Childcare Group Africa and you will only be required to sign one contract with the company.

How do I pay for services?

All payments are to be made ONLY to Childcare Group Africa as stipulated in the contract sheet and through the avenues provided therein.

Can I check the nanny references myself?

Yes, you may request Childcare Group Africa to provide you with the complete file of a nanny which contains references, a police clearance certificate, copy of National ID, medical reports and academic qualifications.

Do you provide shared nannies?

Yes, families that get along well, don’t mind their children mixing and are willing to bring the children in one house can share a nanny. However, a nanny’s priority will be towards the children and not the household chores of both houses.

Can I book for a regular service?

Yes, you can book for a regular service, say Weekly, Fortnightly or Monthly. Inform Childcare Group Africa of your preference and an arrangement will be made to suit your plan.

How much advance notice do I need to give in order to make a booking or have a nanny brought to me?

You will need to give as much notice as possible. Childcare Group Africa will however be prompt to respond to a last minute request and will endeavor to fill a booking within the same day.

When should a nanny wear uniform?

In line with the company policy, a nanny will be expected to be in branded Childcare Group Africa Uniform at all working times.

Should I leave a list of things I want done?

It would be prudent to advise the nanny on what you would expect of her when he/she arrives. We recommend that you come up with a list of things you want done, marking your priorities so as to minimize the gap of disappointment. We also advise that you be more flexible with the nanny on the first week of service to enable him/her acclimatize the new surroundings.

However, where babies are involved, it is important that you understand the nannies priority is towards the little ones and all else is secondary.

Will the employee do shopping for me while I am away at work?

Why not? A nanny may pick your grocery. We however recommend that you leave a shopping list that they can follow through for convenience. You will be issued with all receipts and change for accountability purposes.

What cleaning tools and products do I need to provide if I have booked for a one- time big home cleaning service?

You will NOT need to provide any. Childcare Group Africa fully provides all tools, equipment and agents needed for the job. You however will need to provide replacements for areas in need of fixing, like a broken socket.

In the case of a one-time big home cleaning service, should I follow up the cleaners while the job is being undertaken?

No, but if you’d want things done in a special way you then would be required to lias with the supervisor on the ground prior to commencement of service. Ask our supervisor to call you to check each area as is completed.

Do you provide shared nannies?

What shall the nanny do when the child is asleep?

Part of our nanny training equips them with knowledge on the development of personal schedules and they sure will attend to other household chores. But like earlier highlited, it is important that you leave a list of things you want done for efficiency and minimal disappointment.

Can I request for the same nanny again?

Yes, you may request for the services of the same nanny again but that will be subject to her availability. Childcare Group Africa will make every effort to comply with your request but is unable to guarantee that the same nanny will be availed.

What happens if I don’t like the nanny’s attitude or I’m not satisfied with his/her work?

In the event that you don’t like a nanny or are unpleased with his/her work, appearance or attitude, kindly inform us. We have diverse ways of dealing with client complaints and some solutions may include recalling a nanny for a fresher course or replacing the nanny with another.

When should a nanny wear uniform?

What should I do if my nanny takes ill or has a personal problem that prevents his/her arrival or stay at work?

If sick, kindly take or advice the nanny to visit a hospital where the NHIF card is accepted. Also make a call to Childcare Group Africa and arrangements will be made for a temporary replacement. If the nanny if faced with a personal problem, he/she is advised to inform the company in due time so that the necessary arrangements can be made.

If I have booked for a housekeeping service, can I leave the kids with the house keeper as I attend to my other schedules?

Housekeepers are selected for housekeeping bookings on the basis that childcare is not part of the job description and may not have skills for the same.

If I enroll for training at Childcare Group, is it so I necessarily work through the company?

Absolutely not. After you have been certified you are free to acquire employment from any organization of your choice but if you wish to work through our company, you are advised to register yourself with our employment program for consideration whenever opportunities arise. You however must meet the minimum pass mark and requirements if you are to acquire employment through Childcare Group Africa.

Does Childcare Group Africa offer accommodation during the training?

No, trainees attend training from their respective residences or seek alternative accommodation.

If I am applying for a non-childcare job and have all the necessary qualifications in the field, will I need any training?

If applying for a non-childcare job, you will not need to take the Childcare course but will be required to take a two week training on BASIC WORK ESSENTIALS.

Will I be required to pay for the Basic Work Essentials training?

Yes, you will be required to pay Kshs. 11,000 which will also cover all your administrative costs.
